CHUCK WHEALTON JOINS IN NEW CAPACITY March 2008 Laytonsville, MD – Ruppert Nurseries is pleased to announce that Chuck Whealton has joined the team at Ruppert Nurseries in a role created to build on his industry knowledge and strengths. A former Ruppert Landscape Company branch manager, Whealton brings 30 years of industry experience to his new position as Ruppert Nurseries’ Regional Director of Business Development for the company’s landscape management division. In this role, he will concentrate on new business generation through traditional means, strategic partnerships with key vendors and subcontractors and future acquisitions. “What Chuck brings to us,” states Phil Key, division manager, “is an invaluable amount of experience in every aspect of field work, back-office responsibilities and management. He understands and embraces the Ruppert culture and I believe he will play a significant role in our growth over the years ahead.” For his part, Whealton calls this “the best opportunity of my career. I see enormous opportunities in the mid-Atlantic marketplace and have the chance to work with a team that I missed and highly respect.” Whealton first served with the Ruppert management team through 1998 when the company was sold to TruGreen, with whom he spent nine years, most recently as Vice President of Landscape Management for the mid-Atlantic and Atlantic region. A certified landscape technician (CLT) and certified professional horticulturist (CPH), Whealton resides in Sykesville, MD with his wife and two children. Ruppert Nurseries, Inc. provides commercial landscape installation and landscape management services in the mid-Atlantic regions and includes branches in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Georgia. The company also operates a 475-acre wholesale tree nursery in Montgomery County, Md.
